Two Rookies Fail Conditioning Test | Other Notes

Rookies Brad Wing and Mathew Tucker failed the conditioning test.

Running back Mathew Tucker and punter Brad wing both failed their conditioning test on the first day of training camp for rookies. Kelly said about the test that it’s “not like qualifying for the US Olympic team” and that “If you can’t get through a conditioning test, how do you expect to get through one of our practices?” Now Wing was visibly out performed during the teams mini camps earlier in the off-season and his odds of making the team are slim. Tucker too is a long shot to make the team with backs McCoy, Brown, Jones, and Polk all ahead of him. This is certainly not the way you want to start your NFL career. Both players will get another chance to pass the conditioning test again on Thursday.

Notes: Kelly said he will name a starter before they start game planning for the Redskins. As for when they start game planning, “Hopefully before we play them.”

Dennis Dixon talked about the tempo of the Eagles offense and said this offense will be faster than what Kelly ran at Oregon. Just thinking about that is scary.
