Since being drafted in the second round in the 2010 draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Arrelious Benn hasn’t been able to stay healthy. He has the physical talents to be a good wide receiver being 6’1″, 215 lbs, runs a 4.42-40, and has a good set of hands. The Eagles traded for Benn in the off-season in hopes he could stay healthy and be another weapon for this high paced Chip Kelly offense. He has 59 receptions, 862 yards, and 5 TD’s so far in his short and injury riddled career.
With Maclin and Benn now out the Eagles are most likely going to stay in-house and not go out and try to acquire a veteran receiver like a Brandon Lyod, Chad Johnson, or Terrell Owens. They may look to add a young guy who has potential to fill his roster spot but that is it. Eagles GM Howie Roseman is confident in the talent the team has right now at receiver as is coach Kelly.
