Eagles @ Raiders

With the division race still very much alive the Eagles head out to Oakland to take on Terrelle Pryor and the Raiders. The Eagles currently sitting a game and half back of the Cowboys for first place in the division. A win today and a lose by the Cowboys would put their season right back on track.

Nick Foles gets the nod today as he makes his first start since being diagnosed with a concussion. It was unclear earlier this week when Foles would be able to return but he did pass the league mandated concussion protocol.

In Foles last start which was against the Cowboys he was absolutely horrible. He had a completion percentage of only 37.9 (11-for-29) and a 7.5 QBR. More telling than that though is the way he was playing based off of the eye test. He did not look like himself which begs the question of whether he was fully healthy because he doesn’t forget to set his feet and miss wide open receivers like he did. I would expect a bounce back game from Foles.

The key(s) for the Eagles this game are 3 things really.

  1. Contain Terrelle Pryor
  2. Offensive line needs to pick it up
  3. Foles needs to bounce back

Terrelle Pryor is an athlete. Even so that Chip Kelly recruited him out of high school but Pryor choose Ohio State. He excels in his athleticism which makes up for his lack of throwing ability which he is still developing. Just last week against the Raiders he ran 95 yards for a TD and no one was near him at the end. He’s that fast. Our defense has played very well over the past three game only giving up two touchdowns.

The last handful of games we have seen a lack of productivity from our offensive line that was supposed to be a strength of this team heading into it. However it has been a bigger disappointment than our defense which is saying something. They need to start opening up some holes for ‘Shady’ McCoy our teams best player if they want to come out with a win today and continue to win.
